Radical at Lemans

I guess everyone is aware Radical was at Lemans again this year. Too bad they were punted off by a fellow British team, one of the Aston Martin LMP cars. SIGH!

Great race none-the-less, particularly with Brabs winning with Peugot. Best part was the interview with Alan McNish who immediately turned the camera to Brabs, congratulating him as the 2009 Lemans Champion. People wonder why I love auto racing!...

Out of racing for a while

With the year we've had that included a devistating blow to our work routine, the death of my Mother and other events, I found that I lost the desire to race. The cost to fun got way out of kilter so I sold the car and am looking at other hobbies that, while "expensive", won't be the constant and unpredictable expense that racing was. People have suggested maybe racing something else but, frankly, once you've raced sports racers, there is nothing else.

Moldable Steering Wheel Grips

The grips reduce fatigue by allowing each finger to take a portion of the load as opposed to hand-grip strength alone. The grip forms to the hand and fingers, and permanently retains the shape while allowing a flexible shock-absorbing density. Hi all, wanted to introduce myself. I have a gen1 Stohr, chassis #8 bought new in 2003 which I have used as a dedicated track car since. It is one of perhaps only two with an aluminum floor rather than composite, and the first to receive an Accusump direct from the factory. I'm also about to take delivery of a WF1, so it will be interesting to see and feel how much different they are on track. I retired last summer and am now preparing to begin SCCA racing, initially at regional level...

Drive Axles

I bought these bullet proof axles from Matt. Hopefully this fixes our problem but I thought I would pose this question.

I ran the original set of axles 68 hours. I replaced them and just broke one at 12 hours. Besides a flaw......Whats the best way to hurt axles? Does anyone regulary check condition, if so, how?

So the liner skirt of my helmet got tattered over 3 years of a LOT of racing with the Radical and Quans Honda and various belt configurations and sitting on the HANS device and my home-brew mic installation took their toll.

Had a strange problem where the rebound adjuster stopped working on one of my ST-44 Ohlin shocks. Looking in the Ohlin manual, it suggested that loss of Nitrogen might do that so I started looking into that but since everyone was open today, I spoke with Chris Billings at the Shock Shop and he suggested that it was likely a dried-out oil seal from lack of use (since this car has been sitting around since last February that made sense).

Hi folks,

After some lapping on Saturday my SR3 1500 started smoking and I am told I threw a rod and the engine is shot.

This is a fresh engine with less than 21 hrs of lapping (have not raced with it yet). I've had it since new and it has been very well maintained by our mechanic, all basics always minded, fluids replaced very regularly, etc.

Not sure how warming up is measured in a warranty situation in terms of hours, or how this issues are assesed by...
